Ladas are a Russian made car that is everywhere here. The non wagons look like a little Jetta. Last year an NGO made a fundraising calendar that was titled Loaded Lada featuring all sorts of Ladas carrying a wide range of goods. The way to and from Quba is farm country. Apples, pears, eggplant, tomatoes, potatoes, peppers and hazelnuts in season. Loading up on farm fresh on the way into the city. The fruit and veg in the city come from here and the price is similar but it is fun to find it close to the source. |
