Cappadocia, Turkey in March/April

Lovely holiday with Grandpa Jim and Nana in Cappadocia.  Into Ankara then a 4hr bus ride south to Taka Ev in Cappadocia.  Based on my recent country traveling experiences, to prepare for the bus ride I stocked the family up on food and had my pockets filled with paper.  I laughed out loud a couple of times on the way south.  First, when we pulled away exactly on time in a line of some 15 other buses to quickly be served water and tea.  Second, when we pulled into a rest stop that seemed more like a supermarket with attached restaurant.  If this is traveling in Turkey, it is really traveler friendly.  Once at Taka Ev the owner Murat made us feel right at home in the peaceful cave home he had renovated on the hill.  The sun came up over the mountains in the morning behind the volcano that was responsible for the unusual conical cave formations that make this place so unusual.  Hikes right out the door and into the valley.  Every morning hot air balloons dip and rise.  We even had snow our first few days.
